Buspar Dividose is used to treat severe anxiety disorders; however, it is not usually used to treat anxiety and tension caused by everyday living.

What It Does:

No one is certain how Buspar Dividose successfully treats anxiety, although some researchers speculate that the drug may act to decrease the amount of serotonin in certain parts of the brain. It is believed that upsets in normal levels of serotonin in the brain can lead to extreme anxiety, depression and other mood disorders. By regulating the amount of serotonin in the brain doctors are able to regulate the disorder.

Side Effects:

Buspar Dividose has been known to cause allergic reaction in patients with drug sensitivities. Anyone presenting with hives, difficulty breathing and swelling around the face, mouth, nose and tongue should notify their physician immediately.

The medication is known to react adversely with Isocarboxazin, Linezolid, Phenelzine and Tranylcypromine. Most physicians will not recommend the use of Buspar Dividose with these medications. There are numerous other drugs that have been known to react with Buspar Dividose; if you are taking other medications or herbal supplements it's important to let your physician known immediately, and always prior to beginning a course of treatment.

Common side effects associated with the use of Buspirone are restlessness, nervousness and what has been defined as an "unusual excitement". Patients may also experience blurred vision, clamminess or sweating, diarrhea, drowsiness, decreased concentration, muscle pain, spasms, cramps or stiffness, tinnitus (ringing in the ears), insomnia or nightmares and fatigue.

Emergency medical assistance may be needed if patients experience chest pain, confusion, a "pounding" heartbeat, fever, incoordination, depression, muscle weakness, numbness, tingling, pain or weakness in the hands or feet, sore throat, stiffness of the arms or legs or uncontrolled body movements. Overdose may cause dizziness, drowsiness, loss of consciousness, nausea, vomiting and contracted pupils.
